Alan L. Schein, M.D., Retired, began his eye surgery practice in 1976. A Pennsylvania native, Dr. Schein graduated from Pennsylvania State University in State College. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After serving two years as a family practitioner in the United States Public Health Service, he completed his ophthalmology residency training at Temple University Hospital. He is Board Certified, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. He served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Grandview Surgery Center. He and his wife, Caren, live in Harrisburg and have two children, Ellen and Jason.
